Is half moon bay accessible?

The route to the bathrooms is accessible. The Francis Beach day-use area has accessible parking, restrooms and a wheelchair on the beach. The coastal trail is undoubtedly Half Moon Bay's best-known accessible trail, but some wheelchair users may still be able to access other trails.

The Bluff Trail in the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, which runs parallel to the Coastside Trail, is an example of this. The trail overlooks the ocean and some parts are beautifully wooded. There are two points to access the trail, one consisting of parking on the street and the other with a real parking lot with a bathroom. This trail is a mix between partially paved and compact land.

Some areas of the trail may have obstacles in the tree roots or the path itself may become narrow. Beach wheelchairs are available in Half Moon Bay and Hampton Beach during periods when beaches are patrolled by lifesaving clubs. This usually occurs between noon and 5 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays in December, January, and February.
